Biography coal
Residents of the village of Vanino. Through them, fossils, primarily coal, export to Asia from the depths of the country: Yakutia, Buryatia, Khakassia, Tyvs, Kemerovo and Irkutsk regions. Since the year, the flow of goods through the Far Eastern ports has grown, which Vladimir Putin stated at the Eastern Economic Forum - "They already account for a quarter of the cargo turnover of all Russian ports today, and this indicator will objectively continue to grow." To increase the cargo turnover, the authorities expand the railway tracks-in the Vaninsky district, the Baikal-Amur BAM highway is hastily growing, leaving traces on spawning rivers and valuable forests.
The state has special hopes for BAM and the Trans -Siberian Railway: their throughput for the year should grow from today to a million tons of cargo per year. In addition to paving the ways, the authorities regularly discuss the construction of new coal terminals - either in the covenants of Ilyich, then in the Soviet Harbor - in addition to the existing capacities of the Dalteransugol companies and Vaninotransugol VTU, which are located near the Toka village.
Even before the start of hostilities in Ukraine, Vanino and neighboring villages were not samples of environmental well -being - the Vaninsky port began to take coal in the year, and the DTU and TTU terminals have been accepting from and years, respectively. In M, local residents actively went to rallies and opposed the poisoning of air with dust from coal and clay, and one of the port dockers, Alexander Egorov, even recorded an appeal to the president with a complaint about the environmental situation.
Now, from the previous discontent of the public there was no trace - most of the Vaninians, it seems, the current situation is satisfied, even if it has not been easier to breathe in the village. Journalist of Kedra Anastasia Trojanova and documentary photographer Marina Sycheva went to Vanino to see what price nature and residents of the Far Eastern villages for the turn of Russia in the direction of Asia pay.
And also - to understand why most local people no longer consider the pollution of rivers, sea and air a significant problem. In March, he got rid of the company's shares and left the Council of its directors due to personal sanctions by the EU. In the year, Melnichenko declared the desire to regain control of SUEK - the company's shares belong to the Cyprus Firstline Road, where the billionaires were among the beneficiaries until March.
Nothing is announced about the decision of Trost regarding the return of Melnichenko to the Benefuckers. View of the port of Vanino. Photo: Marina Sycheva is apparently invisible to the end of September, but it bakes in a summer-Vaninians walk a long snake of several hundred people along the square by the stream of a peach. Today, with the support of Daltransugol, the Environmental Promotion "Day of the Tree" takes place.
All - from small to great - rushed to plant their tree. The atmosphere is festive and even family. The good part of the village, inspired by the speech of large bosses, leaned over pits prepared in the ground - a few minutes ago Vaninians instructed "to protect nature with their own hands." The Executive Director of Daltransugulu Vladimir Dolgopolov said: “Plant, grow your trees, mark them, make sure that they grow, and most importantly - take care of them and the nature of our area.” The head of the Vaninsky district, Sergei Nagornyak, emphasized that "only each of us can make more comfortable, more beautiful and cleaner our small village of Vanino." Vladimir Sidorov, the chairman of the All -Russian Society for the Conservation of Nature in the Khabarovsk Territory, also called to the sense of collective responsibility for the purity of the surrounding world: “If we ourselves do not make our habitat comfortable, green, beautiful, then living in this place will be much worse.” The speakers are torn off by patriotic songs-“Mother Earth, White Birch”, “From the Volga to the Yenisei ...”-drowning out the noise of the wind and the sound of cranes in the Vaninsky port.
So far, everyone is busy driving the pegs, watering seedlings and weaving camouflage networks by the traditional activity of any village events, black dust clubs appear on the horizon. It seems that only I see them from the whole crowd. To the black pillar that appeared among the clear sky, nobody cares - either they do not see it, or do not want to see it. The rally of the tree support conducted with the support of the Dalteransugol company.

At the Poklonnaya Cross - the monument to the Stalin camps and Vaninsky shipping - an overview to the port is opened. Black velvens gleam under the sun - from a height it is clear how the next commodity, clogged with coal, races here.
Typically, the Vaninsky port is loaded with fossils at night, so as not to corlode the eyes of local residents with dust, but today the work was launched during the day. Several cranes came to life and twisted the “heads” - their scoops grab coal from the transport tape and dumped into the dunes. After an hour and a half, the action will end, the music will subside, and the work in the port will stop - they will return to the coal transshipment late at night. We have off -the -abundant statistics on cancer.
Of course, you will not find official data anywhere, but the locals are sick and die of cancer. This has long been known, and the authorities close their eyes for many years. ” Open data on public health cannot be found really. Anna advises to look for a video on the Internet on which a biology teacher of a Vanin school, himself sick with lung cancer, talks about the dangers of coal and clay dust.
And in that interview he said: it is not necessary to work on a coal terminal. It is enough to live in Vanino to earn oncology. A very good man was a competent, beloved by students. ” The teacher was called Valery Bezuglov. He was born in Vanino in the year, having lived in the village most of his life, received a biological and geographical education. In an interview with the year, he said that he had never smoked, led a “normal lifestyle” and, nevertheless, “picked up” oncolor.
He called the port “the real industrial zone”, recalled how in hospital lines he met his students and their parents with cancer diagnoses, how he regularly wiped his window sills from black “precipitation”. Of particular danger, in his opinion, it is not so much carbon dust in itself as its mixture with clay. Environmental post at the Vaninsky port, behind - a ferry arriving with Sakhalin.
Photo: Marina Sycheva both fractions in the port of Vanino are in the open air, overloading from trains to ships are carried out by graffers, having previously dumped the “goods” on platforms the size of a football field. There is no kilometer between the coal and the clay earth - nothing prevents particles of dust from dating and converting into dangerous compounds.
Coal is an organic substance to which alumina is well “magnetized” or, as chemists call it, aluminum oxide. Most often, the clayzem is used in the aluminum industry, but its property was appreciated by the pharmacists to “cling” to organics - Valery Bezuglov leads as an example the drug “Almagel”, which helps to treat ulcerative diseases. However, lingering in the body in a hitch with coal particles, clayzer puts harm to health.
Of the light particles, they enter the bloodstream and other organs, having a long pernicious effect on them. The guns [of dust reduction] stand here [in the port] first of all, it seems to me that cases with spontaneous coal, with an explosion of coal dust, do not happen again, when people received burns. And the technique can burn expensive, which costs millions. Unlike our lives, probably, Valery Leonidovich reasoned in an interview.
Because she is sad, as it seems to me. We have Dr. Pletnev, she is engaged in an ultrasound in the port hospital-so she spoke somewhere at the rally that in reality the statistics on oncology in Vanino is sad. ” The composition with coal goes to the terminal of the company "Daltransugol". Photo: Marina Sycheva Pensioner Svetlana Arkadyevna [name changed], who came to the "green" action, is worried that not all seedlings will take root. In addition to a nut and ate, they still planted the cedar, and he loves warmth. The cedar does not grow in our vanino, he is in orch. No matter how he died here, she is interrupted by an attack of coughing. With this diagnosis, she has been living for more than five years, doctors prescribed an inhaler.
There is no pulmonologist in Vanino, you have to go to Khabarovsk every six months. At least seven thousand in both directions, it is still good, the children live in Khabarovsk, so I would have to pay for the hotel. And he costs eight thousand! I don't have that kind of money. It is necessary to ask for an allergist in Khabarovsk to be sent for free - she sighs, depicting a semblance of a smile.
The next day we will ask her to photograph the inhaler, she will refuse. And then you then write that I am against coal miners, that we have all sick here. This is not necessary. " Svetlana Arkadyevna on the rally of the tree. And they get sick.
I don’t know what sores have - from work or not, but it doesn’t matter! The port also adds in any way. I communicate with the former Doker Sergey [the name changed]-he worked in the Vaninsky port for twenty years, but recently quit due to conflict with his superiors. He points to the missing rows of teeth - he lost them when he worked in a port with ferrosilicia. They gave a respirator to protect, but he was about nothing.
Then, ferrosilications and other ferroalloys stopped carrying, ”recalls Sergey. I did not work in that area with clay, I only had coal. Well, what you go out like a miner, you get into a blackness, there is no one from cigarettes. Now, when I left, I feel great in general, I stopped jerking off this coal. But cancer, they say, is really a lot with us. My mother died from him.
" Vanino village. Photo: Marina Sycheva Black Test pensioner Maria Nikitichna [name changed], with whom we talked on the world Square near the Vanino administration building, is surprised at the number of wagons in commodity trains: “I somehow watched the composition, it goes and goes and goes-from half a kilometer long, in Soviet times there were no such. And then I saw on TV a meeting of the head of Russian Railways with Putin.
They said that the compositions would be two kilometers at all, so this is not the limit. ” Maria Nikitichna lives in the Vaninsky district of 46 years. He recalls that before in the port there was neither coal nor clay. Mostly wood, metal and some other cargo were carried, they were clean. Such a pleasant wood smell in the village stood! Then he came clay, and then coal.
