Biography Yuri 1

It is considered the founder of Moscow and many other cities. You can find out about this day in detail in the Russia-My History multimedia park. The fact is that after the death at the end of the year Izyaslav Mstislavich and after him, his co -ruler Vyacheslav Vladimirovich, the Kiev throne was occupied by Rostislav Mstislavich Smolensky for one week, brother of Izyaslav.

But not for long reigned in Kyiv and Izyaslav Davydovich. Yuri Dolgoruky went to Kyiv. So on Palm Sunday, the next great reign of Yuri Vladimirovich Dolgoruky in Kyiv began. It seemed especially significant to Yuri that his entry into the city in March took place "on the Perelnitsa", on the last Sunday before Easter. And on that March day, Verba branches with barely swollen kidneys were visible everywhere - in churches, and in houses, and on the streets.

Yuri, who entered the city on horseback, met the city with his festive decoration. The foundation of Moscow, Yuri Dolgoruky, still has several versions of establishing the exact date of birth of Yuri Vladimirovich Dolgoruky. Some historians call the date of the birth of Yuri for the year, from which it follows that he is the son of the first wife of Vladimir Monomakh - Gita Wessex. However, the “Gürgeva Mati”, about which the “teaching” of Vladimir Monomakh was talking about, died on May 7, and this fact does not allow it to identify it with a guita who died on March 10, probably the year.

So, perhaps, Yuri Vladimirovich could be the son of the second wife of his father whose name is unknown and born in the interval between - and for years the last date - the year of birth of his younger brother Andrei. From a year to other versions, from a year before the end of his life, Yuri ruled the Rostovo-Suzdal principality. Yuri Dolgoruky tried to establish himself in the south after the death of Mstislav the Great, but he began a particularly fierce struggle in the year.

In the year, Yuri took possession of Kyiv. In December, he went on a trip to the south. In March, together with the old ally Svyatoslav Olgovich, Yuri was occupied by Kyiv. In the year, a coalition developed from Mstislav Izyaslavich Volynsky, Rostislav Mstislavich Smolensky and Izyaslav Davydovich Chernigovsky. But, the question of the outcome of the struggle remained open.

On the night of Yuri, the version became bad that he was poisoned by the Kyiv nobility. He was tormented for five days. On the day of the funeral of May, a lot of grief happened, which you can find out in the "Russia-My History". The chronicler wrote: the Kievans were plundered by the courtyards of Yuri and his son Vasilka, Suzdal residents were killed in cities and villages.

The ashes of Yuri was buried in the current church of the Savior on Berestov on the territory of the modern Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. Yuri Vladimirovich was married twice: the first time - the daughter of the Polovtsian khan Ayupa. With this marriage, the father of Yuri, Vladimir Monomakh, intended to strengthen the alliance with the Polovtsy. The second time, Yuri married Olga according to legend, the daughter of the Byzantine emperor John Kimnin.

In total, he had 13 children. Read more about this time period in the historical park "Russia-My History".
