Biography of Shchedrin Literature

Glubovtsy fragment of the exhibition of L. Pakhomova’s photo, in particular, is said in the description for the exposition “M. A look from the 21st century ”, which opened in the exhibition hall of the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve. It was brought from the Kirov Regional Museum of Local Lore, one of the divisions of which is the Memorial House Museum of M.

It was in this house that he lived seven years of his Vyatka exile and a lot in it-the walls, floor, doors, stoves and layout-remained the same as it was during the life of the writer. He is known to us primarily as a writer, but the exhibition introduces him, first of all, as with an extraordinary personality of his time. His father came from the impoverished branch of the old noble family of the Saltykovs.

He was able to strengthen his financial situation by married a merchant daughter with a rich dowry. Michael was the sixth child in the family. Until ten years, he studied at home, and his first teachers were a serf painter, an older sister, a priest, governess and a student of the Moscow Theological Seminary. At 10, he was defined at the Moscow Noble Institute, and at 12, as one of the best students, he was sent to the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum.

In August, his service began in the office of the military ministry and at the same time literary activity. His first novels “contradiction” and “confusing business” caused the dissatisfaction of the authorities who saw dangerous freedom in a young writer. Circumstances were aggravated by the French revolution. In a word, “for a harmful way of thinking” Mikhail Saltykov was arrested and exiled to a residence in Vyatka, away from the capitals.

Here he began his work in the provincial office with a small position, but was soon appointed senior official of special assignments under the governor, and from the year as an adviser to the provincial rule. It is worth saying that M. Saltykov did not enjoy the love of colleagues, among whom he was like a white crow: he came to the office earlier, and left later than all, took work to the house.

But, most importantly, he was intolerant of bribe takers, calling them “scoundrels” right in the face. Meanwhile, many of his colleagues not only did not hide that they were engaged in gaps, but almost competed among themselves, who would take more. Of course, in such a situation, the truth -lover Saltykov would hardly have been able to advance so quickly along the official ladder if it weren’t for the governor A.

Sereda, about whom the writer said: “I will ... I will reveal this holy and disinterested person before the memory of this holy and disinterested man.” It was with the middle that they conceived and implemented an unusual project for Vyatka - the first agricultural exhibition, which took place in August. In the provincial city, M. Saltykov was dealing with the issues of statistics, revision of the economy and finance, recruitment sets, the construction of roads, the improvement of county cities, and made up annual reports of the Vyatka province.

During the year, more than 12 thousand service papers received it and daily sent 40-50 answers and orders. 19 officials worked in his subordination. One of the most confusing affairs that Saltykov led in Vyatka was the case of schismatics, adherents of the Old Believer faith. During his investigation, he visited dozens of settlements, schismatic centers, stopped in related provinces and spoke a total of seven thousand miles.

Being in this case in Kazan, he met with the summer merchant-petitioner T. Shchedrin, whose surname later he took himself as a literary pseudonym. This meeting made an indelible impression on him, the writer was struck by his mind and with what dignity and self -control he held on interrogation. Mikhail Saltykov came to exile with a completely wealthy person: he rented a house, held the servant, crew, dressed in the capital's fashion.

In general, he was an enviable groom for Vyatka brides. But his heart was captivated by the daughter of the vice-governor Lisa Boltin, whom he made an offer when she was only 13 years old. Of course, the parents said that Lisa should have grown more, and the wedding took place in the year when M. Saltykov had already received exemption from the exile. The decisive role in this was played by Adjutant General P.

Lanskaya, who came to Vyatka with his wife Natalya Nikolaevna, in his first marriage Pushkina. Subsequently, Saltykov was the main treasurer in the Penza province, the vice-governor in Tverskaya. And, as his wife said: “If it weren’t for Misheleva, a whim by which she meant literary activity, he would be a minister.” Indeed, his reputation was impeccable. When the abolition of serfdom took place, he was invited by the government to the Committee, created to implement this reform, and headed the direction of agriculture in it.

And he was only 35 years old at that time. At the exhibition you can see photos of M. Saltykov-Shchedrin himself, his parents, wives, children, friends, a watercolor portrait of A. The significant part of the subject series is made up of exhibits, partly demonstrating what was presented at the second agricultural exhibition held in Vyatka in the year. There were several departments on it: “turning and carpentry craft”, “forest products”, “peasant needlework and works of art”, lace “Products of three girlish schools”, “iron products”, “flax products and weaving”.

According to M. Saltykov, the latter was the most important.

Biography of Shchedrin Literature

In the Vyatka province, a lot of high -quality linen was produced. According to his calculations, up to 14 million were excreted per year. Of course, such an amount was unnecessary for its own needs, and the linseed canvas through Arkhangelsk was sent abroad by sea. In Vyatka, the writer was not engaged in literary work, but the impressions that he made from numerous meetings with people of different classes and his extensive activity in the responsible post formed the basis of his works.

His works, full of subtle humor, subtexts, pierced by love for his homeland and deep Experiences for it, have become a source of inspiration for this project. In it, the author, with a share of irony, reveals the vices and pain of Russian society into edification to descendants. A series of really took place in historical events and characters by a kaleidoscope before the reader.

It is no secret that for Roman Saltykov-Shchedrin used specific prototypes of historical figures ... ”Based on this fact, Maxim Naumov created a brilliant graphic cycle in the year“ M. The story of one city. Conversations with the mayors ”, performing it on tinted paper for pastel with a black gel pen and a white tempor. Under each work on a separate sheet, a portrait of a historical prototype and brief information about it is given, as well as a description of the corresponding mayor from the History of one City.

Among the prototypes of the ruler of the city of Glupov of different years, one can see the cavalry-girl N. N. Conversations of the mayors with the image of a certain spirit of Saltykov-Shchedrin occur against the background of the interiors and exterior of the writer's house-museum. In such stylistics and color scheme, but only by changing the gel pen for mascara and feather, the artist prepared the work cycle “House-Museum M.
