His works are loved for unique humor, irony, lyrics and philosophical subtext. At the same time, Iskander wrote not viciously and not arrogantly, looking at humanity with a smile. His mother was an abhazka, his father was a descendant of wealthy Persians. Fazil is the third, youngest child in the family. His brothers were also waiting for a tragic fate: despite the acceptance of citizenship, they died in the Stalinist camps.

After expulsion from the country, none of the family members again saw the senior Iskander. At the end of the x, Fazil unsuccessfully tried to make certificates about him through the Foreign Ministry, and in the year he received a letter from Iran with a message about his father's death. Fazil's mother was illiterate, but a wise and strict woman, she worked as a seller.

Her son loved and respected her very much, and when he moved to Moscow, he tried to regularly visit. In many works of the writer, actions unfold in the Abkhaz village of Chegem, where mother's relatives lived. Representatives of many nationalities lived in Abkhazia. Young Fazil heard around him besides Abkhazian and Russian, Georgian, Mingrelian, Armenian, Turkish, Greek, Persian speech.

He himself said that only two languages ​​knew-Russian and Abkhaz, despite the fact that he was engaged in translations from English. As a child, Fazil read a lot, he graduated from the school with a gold medal and wanted to enter the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University. Having already become a writer, he wrote about this in the autobiographical story “Beginning”. At first, a member of the selection committee could not understand what kind of Abkhazia, where the applicant came from, and then went to find out what kind of nation “there is a serving” to his nation.

Iskander did not wait and left the university. He writes with irony about his resentment and how he entered the Moscow Library Institute on the same day, which his fellow traveler praised the train on the train. After a couple of years of studying at the university, Iskander realized that he wanted to become a writer and moved to the forge of such personnel - in his student years he began to write poetry, trained in newspapers, graduated from the university in the year, receiving the profession of a literary worker.

After the distribution, the young specialist worked in the editorial offices of the newspapers "Bryansk Komsomolets" and "Kurskaya Pravda". Iskander’s heyday in the year of Iskander’s writer's career published his first work in prose in the journal Pioneer, a small story “The First Case”. In it, he conducts a story on behalf of a teenager, to whom the aunt first entrusted an adult lesson - to take the bags of corn on the mill on the donkey.

The following year, Iskander released a collection of his poems “Mountain Paths” in the Abkhaz branch of the State Publishing House. There he remained to work as an editor and managed to write new works. In the year, Iskander became a member of the Union of Soviet Writers, published in all -Union publications. Two years later, he met with a student at the Moscow Institute of National Economy Antonina Khlebnikova, who had come to rest in Sukhumi.

With his characteristic irony, the writer talks about the innovation in the agriculture of Abkhazia - the breeding of the goaters of the hybrid of the mountain tour and the ordinary goat. However, he could not come to terms with decent censorship editing in volume and eventually handed over the work abroad.

In the year, Roman came to the United States, and the Soviet government did not disregard this fact. In it was his story “Little Giant of Big Sex” and “Retribution” from the Chick cycle. All Soviet authors published in the Metropol have fallen into disgrace, they stopped printing them. For Iskander it was a psychological blow, temporarily he returned to poetic creativity and translations.

At the same time, the writer was allowed to travel abroad, he visited several countries. During the year, Iskander lost three loved ones: his sister, brother and summer mother died one after another. The writer did not express his bitterness and mental suffering outwardly, but splashed into the pages of the piercing story “Loss”. In the x years, Iskander was published, but Soviet critics did not pamper him with attention.

Abroad, he published the philosophical fairy tale “Rabbits and Bada” and the new chapters of the novel “Sandro from Chegem”, on which he continued to work. During the years of perestroika, from the years, Fazil Iskander returned to active writing and social activities. Iskander died on July 31 from acute heart failure in a year of life. He was buried on August 2 at the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow. In Abkhazia, mourning was announced that day.
