It was in his blood. Once, when Seryozha still studied at school, he wandered a drunk at the disco and began to pick up. The son gave him a rebuff. He suggested that he go out and fight one on one, without witnesses.

Usually not simple hooligans do this. Seryozha accepted the challenge. The comrades anxiously began to expect how it would end. We were ready to rush to the rescue of his son. And he figured it out. He came and said calmly: “That's it. It will not appear here anymore, ”said the hero of the hero Alexander Semenovich. Once after the eighth grade, he had already left for Serpukhov to study as a specialist in semiconductor devices.

But I realized in time: this is not his business. Without regretting the lost year, he returned to school, studied for eleven years and first went to the local factory, where the tires were repaired, and then to his favorite army. As part of the detachment, he went on business trips twice to participate in the fighting during the Second Chechen War: from December to May and from November.

He showed courage and skill in several special operations. He wrote home: "Sorry that it happened ... do not believe the TV ... There is nothing wrong ... We are checking the passport regime." During the operation, the fighters found a large warehouse of weapons and ammunition in the basement of one of the secondary schools of the city. A whole system of underground passages extending to the same basement was also discovered.

It was decided to examine these moves. Moving first, Sergeant Burnaev discovered a group of militants and entered into battle with them. In complete darkness, with outbreaks of fire from the automatic line, Sergei Burnaev saw how, on the floor of the underground corridor, a grenade thrown by the militants rolled towards his comrades. There was no time to throw it back, and for the sake of saving comrades, Sergei closed the grenade with his body.

At the cost of his own life, Sergeant Burnaev saved the life of the rest of the fighters. The gang group of 8 militants was completely destroyed, a large number of weapons were discovered. Of the Russian troops, no one except Sergey Burnaev died in this battle.
