Nikolai Ustyug biography
He graduated from the Chelyabinsk Theological School, the Orenburg Theological Seminary, the socio-pedagogical historical department of the faculty of social sciences of Moscow University Candidate of Historical Sciences; The theme of the dissertation: “Essays on the history of prevailing types of labor in the posads of the eastern part of Pomerania in the first half of the 17th century.” The biography after the end of the seminary worked as a teacher in railway schools near Chelyabinsk and Tomsk, and did not study at Tomsk University for long.
B was mobilized in the Red Army and participated in the hostilities against the White troops in Siberia. After graduating from Moscow University, he worked in the capital's libraries of the Communist Academy, the Polytechnic Museum, etc. C, at the same time, taught at the Historical and Archive Institute, gave lectures and conducted seminars on auxiliary historical disciplines.
B - served in the Soviet Army, went from the Red Army soldier of the militia division to the commander of the technical intelligence unit of the Road Department of the Guards Army. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star and medals. After the war, he returned to the Institute of History and the Historical and Archival Institute. In the Historical and Archive Institute, he created a student circle on the history of the period of feudalism in the USSR, 18 participants of which became scientists, defending candidate dissertations under his leadership.
Scientific activity is an author of scientific works, most of which are devoted to the problems of the economic and social development of the Russian state of the 17th century, was engaged in the history of craft and small commodity production. He studied the problems of the genesis of capitalist relations in the industry of Russia of that time. In his doctoral dissertation about the salted industry, he showed that the beginning of these relations in the large industry of Russia dates back to the 17th century.
One of the largest experts in the field of auxiliary historical disciplines published in five parts the “Course of auxiliary Historical Disciplines”. Together with his student, E. Kamentseva was published by the textbook “Russian Sprayism and Heraldry” Academician L. Cherepnin wrote about him: the two qualities are inherent in N. Ustyugov as a researcher.
Firstly, he achieved the ultimate accuracy and concreteness in the reproduction of the phenomena of the past and therefore built his work on a huge documentary mainly archival material.
