The biography of Alferov is a scientist

Contacts Alferes Ivanovich Royal Academy of Sciences of Sweden published the names of scientists who were awarded the Nobel Physics Prize. The prizes were awarded to J. Alferov Russia and the city of Kremer of the United States for the development of semiconductor heterostructures for high -speed and optoelectronics. The published brief biographical certificate of laureates indicates the highest educational institution that the laureate graduated.

Thus, the whole world learned that the Nobel laureate Zhores Ivanovich Alferov graduated from the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute named after V. Ulyanov Lenin.

The biography of Alferov is a scientist

The Royal Academy of Sciences of Sweden published the names of scientists who were awarded the Nobel Physics Prize. Student Zhores Alferov studied at the faculty of electronic equipment and graduated from the years of study by J. Alferov in Lesi coincided with the beginning of the student construction movement. In the city, in his student years, J. Alferov began his journey in science. Under the guidance of the associate professor of the foundations of the Electrovacious technology of Natalia Nikolaevna Zozina, he was engaged in the research of semiconductor film photocells.

His report at the Institute Conference of the Student Scientific Society of Schools in the city of several years was the chairman of the SPU of the faculty of electronic technology. Alferov was sent to work at the Leningrad Physics and Technical Institute and began to work in the Laboratory of V. here, with the participation of J. Alferov, the first Soviet transistors were developed. In the beginning of the x, J.

Alferov began to deal with the problem of the heterine transitions. The discovery of ideal heterine transitions and new physical phenomena -“Superinecrations”, electronic and optical restrictions in heterograms -allowed to radically improve the parameters of most known semiconductor devices and create fundamentally new ones, especially promising for use in optical and quantum electronics.

With his discoveries, J. Alferov laid the foundations of modern information technology, mainly through the development of fast transistors and lasers. The instruments and devices created on the basis of the research of J. Alferov literally produced a scientific and social revolution. These are lasers that transmit information flows through the Internet fiber networks, these are technologies that underlie mobile phones, devices decorating product shortcuts, recording and reproducing information of CDs and much more.

Under the scientific leadership of J. Alferov, studies of solar elements based on heterostructures were performed, which led to the creation of photovelectric converters of solar radiation into electric energy, the coefficient of useful action of which approached the theoretical limit. They turned out to be indispensable for energy supply of space stations, and are currently considered as one of the main alternative energy sources instead of decreasing oil and gas reserves.

Thanks to the fundamental works of J. Alferov, LEDs on heterostructures were created. Due to their high reliability and efficiency, LEDs of white light are considered as sources of lighting of a new type and in the near future will replace traditional incandescent lamps, which will be accompanied by giant power economy. Among the scientific areas that J. Alferov actively develops include the development of quantum points.

The use of arrays of such quantum points allows you to reduce the electric consumption of lasers, as well as increase the stability of their characteristics with an increase in temperature. The world's first laser at quantum points was created by a group of scientists working under the guidance of Zh. The characteristics of these devices are constantly improving, and today they exceed all types of semiconductor lasers in many respects.

Academician J. Alferov perfectly understands that science and education are inseparable. Therefore, he purposefully forms a system of training scientific personnel in the latest areas of science and technology, based on a wide involvement of academic institutions and leading scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences to the educational process. Alferov, using the ongoing close connection with LETI, creates and leads the first base department in the country at his own faculty of electronic equipment in the country.

Ioffe, the teachers of which are famous scientists. The training system for scientific personnel at the base department gave excellent results. When in the city of 30 years the department released about six hundred highly qualified specialists, the vast majority of which began to work in the FTI. More than four hundred people defended candidate dissertations, over thirty - doctorals, and N.

Ledentsov, V. Ustinov and A. Zhukov became the correspondents of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The organization of the Department of Optoelectronics was the beginning of the activities of J. Alferov to create an integral educational structure. Alferova, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, created an academic physical and technological university, which in the city of created educational and research structures in the city of the units included in it are located in excellent buildings built thanks to the efforts of the railway.Alferov does everything in his power to support the international authority of Russian science.

At his proposal, the President of the Russian Federation, by his decree, established the international prize "Global Energy", which is annually awarded to three Russian and foreign scientists who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of energy. On the initiative and under the chairmanship of J. Alferov, the St. Petersburg Scientific Forum “Science and Society” is held.

As part of this forum, the first meeting of the Nobel laureates “Science and Progress of Humanity” took place in the year of the three hundredth anniversary of St. Petersburg. It was attended by 20 Nobel laureates in the field of physics, chemistry, physiology and medicine, and economics. Starting with G. Forum, the theme of the forum was information technology.

The theme of the forum of Alferov is the largest Soviet Russian scientist, author of more scientific works, over 50 inventions. His work received worldwide recognition, entered the textbooks. Proceedings of J. Karpinsky Germany, Demidov Prize, Prize. Joffe and Golden Medal A. Zhores Ivanovich was elected a life member of the Institute of B. Franklin and a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Engineering Academy of the United States, a foreign member of the Academies of Sciences of Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria and many other countries.

He is an honorary citizen of St. Petersburg, Minsk, Vitebsk and other cities of Russia and abroad. The honorary doctor and professor was elected by scientific councils of many universities in Russia, Japan, China, Sweden, Finland, France and other countries. All these awards and ranks deservedly crowned the work of not only the researcher, but also the organizer of science.

Fifteen years, J. Alferov, headed the illustrious physico and technical institute of A. Joffe RAS. For more than twenty years, Zhores Ivanovich’s permanent chairman of the St. Petersburg Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the main task of which is the coordination of the scientific activity of all St. Petersburg academic institutions. Alferov - vice president of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
